Hair care tips for long hair

- Try to select your shampoo according to your hair type because there are different types of shampoo available in the market that are made for oily/dry combination hair also available according to hair type. Such as for thin hair, thick hair, curly hair, and treated hair.

- Try to select conditioner according to your hair type. One important point- try to use products of same company means try to use conditioner, shampoo and other hair care products of the same company. Hair conditioning is an essential step of hair care regimen. It helps moisturise your hair and removes unnecessary oils without stripping too much of your hair’s natural oils.

- Don't use hair straighteners that uses extreme temperature of more than 500 degrees, or much better option is to use some good flat irons like Babyliss pro nano titanium.

- Try to wash your hair every other day. Even every third day won’t hurt it.

- While shampooing your hair, put some shampoo all the way down your hair. Not only your scalp need washing, but also your hair needs a little soap. Make sure you rinse your shampoo thoroughly.

For conditioning, try to concentrate on the ends and condition your hair towards roots, once a week. Avoid using too many styling products. If you must use mousse, or even leave-in conditioner, concentrate on the ends. Try to keep the products away from your scalp as much as possible.

- Use a wide toothed comb on wet hair this action will help you to get the water out of your hair. While using blow drier first, concentrate on the middle and ends of your hair. Dry the hair closest to your scalp last.

- Avoid rubbing your hair with a towel, instead blot the water out of your hair, when you rub, it'll cause your hair to tangle. Be gentle when detangling, pulling down on your hair too hard will cause breakage.

- Avoid using a brush to detangle your hair, this will stretch your hair and may cause your hair to break off. In order to detangle your hair, try to use a pick or your fingers or a wide toothed comb.

- Check regularly your hair for split ends.

- In order to avoid hair breakage, use a satin or silk pillowcase instead of using a cotton pillowcase. Or, if you want you can also wear a satin or silk scarf over your hair before your sleep to prevent breakage. Avoid sleeping with tightly braided hair or hair in a tight ponytail

- Hair brushing is an important step of long hair care regimen. Brushing helps spread the hair oils out across the length of your hair. For long hair, use long strokes starting from the roots of your hair when brushing.

- In order to keep your long hair beautiful all the time, you should trim your hair once every 3 months.
